What is the 10/40 Window?
There are many people who have never heard of this area of the world known as the 1040 window. This term was coined by a Christian Missionary in the 90’s to describe a certain area of the world. It is all of the countries that fall between 10 and 40 degrees north latitude, just above the equator.

The 1040 concept highlights these three elements:
An area of the world with great poverty
Low quality of life
Lack of access to Christian resources

Why should we reach the 10/40 Window?
Jesus told His disciples to go and preach the gospel to every nation and to make more disciples by baptizing them and teaching them all that Jesus taught.
Many do not understand why a missionary would go to the 10/40 Window. People have argued just as many people need to hear about Christ here in America, which is very true! The biggest difference is there are millions of people who have never heard the gospel and there is no Christian witness available for them to hear about Jesus. Even though we have poverty and homeless people in America, they are still among the top 10% of the wealthiest people in the world! Many organizations do not want to go to these countries in the 1040 Window because of the danger and extreme persecution to Christians. We know that God has called our team to preach the gospel and reach the lost no matter how bad the conditions are or how dangerous it may be. If Jesus has commanded us to do it them we believe that He will take care of us and keep us safe while we are there!
